This committee explores opportunities for advancing the Coalition’s mission through advocacy at local, state and national levels, and through public education including printed materials, speaking presentations, events, social media, email, and the Coalition’s website. The Education and Advocacy committee meets monthly on Zoom. For more information, email: contact@homelesscoalitionboise.com.
“Love Your Neighbor” is an initiative of the Boise/Ada County Homeless Coalition’s Housing Development Committee. Its role is to support proposals for good affordable housing projects. At the request of developers, “Love Your Neighbor” can appear at hearings at critical points in the development approval process.
We know that with the exception of the developer and architect, usually most people show-up to testify against affordable housing proposals. “Love Your Neighbor’s” role is to help be the voice of the people who are not usually heard — those that need the affordable housing!
If you want to participate with “Love Your Neighbor” and be an advocate for affordable housing, please email us contact@homelesscoalitionboise.com. We will add you to our contact list and share information on advocacy and proposed projects. You will have a chance to help make the decision of whether or not to support specific affordable housing proposals and receive notices when critical public hearings are scheduled for these projects.
If you are a developer who would like “Love Your Neighbor” to support your proposed affordable housing project, please email us [contact@homelesscoalitionboise.com]. We will schedule a meeting so that you can present the project to our Housing Development Committee for consideration. When a decision is made to support a project, then simply give us timely notice of public hearings where “Love Your Neighbor’s” support is needed.
